The Vision

The Greenwood Area Library serves citizens of the city and surrounding townships. The vision for the new space is carefully crafted to enhance library services. 

“Grounded and Growing” is the slogan of this community. The public library needs to grow to provide for the changing needs of the future.

Accessible Space for All

  • safe and accessible handicapped parking
  • updates to restroom including a diaper changing station
  • a variety of seating options for readers and visitors with personal devices
  • work space for small groups
  • spaces for quiet study
  • space for young library users to gather

Facility and Collection

  • creative design that does not require increase in staffing

  • low-profile, mobile shelving for clear sightlines and to meet future changing needs
